The additional tariffs will take effect on September 24, 2018, and will be set at a 10 percent level by the end of the year. From jan 1, 2019, the tariffs will rise to 25%. The move is designed to give us companies time to move the industry chain.

Excluded products include:

2.Materials used in the production of chemicals for manufacturing, textile and agriculture
3.Certain health and safety products, such as bicycle helmets
4.Child safety products such as car seats and game fences
Excluding those products, the total value of the tariffs is still $200 billion, and more than 40 percent of China's exports to the United States have been added to the list.
