India adjusts import duties and goods and services tax on anti-epidemic materials related products

With the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in India, the Ministry of Finance of India has successively announced the cancellation of import tariffs or integrated goods and services tax on many products such as anti-epidemic drugs, medical oxygen, storage bottles, oxygen generators, vaccines and medicines for the treatment of black fungus (Black Fungus) (IGST), including:

Announcements No. 27/2021-Customs and 29/2021-Customs were issued on April 20 and 30, cancelling Remdesivir Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (HS 29) and Beta Cyclodextrin (Beta Cyclodextrin, HS 29), Remdesivir injection (Injection Remdesivir, HS 29), Inflammatory Diagnostic Kit (HS 3822) and other 4 product import duties and health tax (Health Cess), until October 31, 2021 .

Announcement No. 28/2021-Customs was issued on April 24, canceling medical oxygen (Medical Oxygen, HS 280440), storage bottle, oxygen generator (Oxygen Generator, HS 9018), respirator (Ventilator, HS 9018/ 9019) Import duties and health taxes on 18 products, including oxygen masks, will expire on July 31, 2021.

Announcement No. 30/2021-Customs was issued on May 1, reducing the Integrated Goods Service Tax (IGST) of Oxygen Concentrator imported for personal use (HS 9804) to 12% until June 2021 Ended on the 30th.

Announcement 04/2021-Customs was issued on May 3, canceling tariffs and integrated goods and services tax (IGST) on imported anti-epidemic materials donated by the Indian government and related units for relief purposes, until June 30, 2021. In addition, the treatment of black mold drugs-Amphotericin B (Amphotericin B) health tax and integrated goods and services tax (IGST) were cancelled, but the tariffs were not cancelled.
