China-Import Restriction on waste and scraps

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of PR China (MEP) recently published an index of import ban on waste products including plastic scraps and recyclable waste paper. This standard will take effect with vessels arriving in China from December 31, 2017.

Please be informed that Hapag-Lloyd will implement non-acceptance on commodities listed on the index from all origins to China effective with vessels ETA at China ports after December 31, 2017.
